About Yannick

Yannick Reid (BA) is a Jamaican-born visual artist specializing in film direction, cinematography, and photography, including concert, portraiture, lifestyle, editorial, and documentary work. Approaching 20 years as a creative professional, his work blends technical precision with a deep understanding of storytelling.

Raised in a home where art was second nature—his father a photographer, his mother an interior designer—Yannick’s passion for visuals was sparked early. Inspired heavily by Jamaica’s landscape and culture, he takes pride in producing work of an international standard while retaining an authentic Jamaican and Caribbean sensibility. His creative journey began with major productions like Reggae Sumfest as early as 2008, and he went on to study at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, earning a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration. While there, he taught himself cinematography, developing the versatile skill set that defines his work today.

Currently serving as Creative Director for reggae artist Protoje, Yannick also runs YaH Made It, a creative production company specializing in film and photography, collaborating with a wide range of clients on creative direction and visual communication. His approach is rooted in creating visuals that resonate both viscerally and emotionally—crafting not just standalone images or films, but cohesive, immersive visual experiences.

Outside of work, Yannick enjoys listening to Dancehall and Reggae, debating music culture and business, relaxing in the dance near a loud speakerbox, and immersing himself in a good video game.
